Email for new registered users

Hi all. Just a couple of quick questions.

1.Is there a way of having an email sent every time a new user registers? I can't seem to find a setting anywhere.

2. I have some users awaiting email confirmation for quite some time (months). Can the system send them another confirmation link as a reminder? Otherwise there's not much point in having them there so I could delete them.
