Default Errors on my site

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
Example: V4.1.8 Developer

What template are you using?
Deepsea

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:

Hello,

I found a nice function in Chrome. I right clicked on my site and selected "Inspect element". You can see if the page has any errors by clicking on the tab "Resources" and looks in the bottom right corner. I had 20 errors. I switched between different templates and found 7- 20 depending on which template I used. What does this mean? They looked like this:

Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/plain.

searchbar.pngResource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/plain.
jcook.jsResource interpreted as script but transferred with MIME type text/plain.

If you search on this

"resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/plain."

in google you will get quite a few explanations.

At the end of the day if your pages display well in FF, I.E 7.0 / 8.0, Safari and in Chrome, and it validates with W3C validator with only minor warnings or no critical errors then I would not worry too much. You will never please all of the people using all of the browsers. It is nearly impossible.

probably a bug in chrome. When discussing browser issues its always a good idea to include your exact browser version.

Is this something that 68 classifieds should look into? A lot of warnings! Link

Not really. The first one is a piece of code so that png image files with display correctly in old browsers. We don't even bother trying to support I.E 6 any more with our templates. The fact that css 2.1 does not like it is pretty irrelevant as it is a well known fix for browser incompatibility. Many use it. The others are probably not very relevant either if your template is being inherited from the default template. You are also testing an old css file and not your own. What tends to be far more important is the xhtml validator. You should do this on your site and look for critical errors.

Even if something validates the reality is different browsers will display things differently to each other. That is why i said if it shows ok in the las two I.E browsers, Safari 4, the latest Firefox 5 and the latest Chrome, I wouldn't worry to much.
