Please describe in detail the issue you are having:


I have a small issue and would appreciate opinions as to ways of resolving it.

I need to have 3 main user groups:

• REGULAR - Free ads, pay for extra features
• VIP - Free ads, use extra features free for one month
• VIP PLUS - Free ads, use extra features free for 2 years.

I want to run 2 promotions:

• Promotion One - allows new users that register and that where invited by this specific promotion to post ads and use all extra options free for one month.
• Promotion Two - allows already registered user that forward a promotional email message to at least 50 of their contacts tol be upgraded to a VIP PLUS user group where they will be able to post and use the extra options for free for 2 years. (I WILL MANUALLY UPGRADE USERS TO THIS GROUP, SO I DO NOT WANT TO DISPLAY GROUP IN PRODUCT PACKAGE CHECKOUT PAGE)

The 50 referred users will fall into the REGULAR user group.

how can I do this?

How about this:
Promotion One - Setup a coupon and then manually sent it to them?

Promotion Two - This should be easy by creating the usergroup and then add new packages that only they can choose. Of course you will need the other packages so only the other group can see them.

About your first suggestion... I have already sent the email for this promotion... I would not want to send another email regarding this same thing, at least until after a couple of weeks. Is there another solution?

Actually now that I think about it you could create a discount tied to a particular user. So when you see someone register create a new discount that is assigned to them.

Well, I think a faster solution would be to just put that new registered user into the discounted user group....

I dint think about the coupons when I sent the promo email! BUMMER. guess im stuck to sort users manually until when I believe the promotional email has been diluted.


on another note... is there a way that I can transfer multiple users from one user group to another all at once instead of one by one?

If there isn't, I suggest maybe giving the option in the drop-down update button under the users table.

It would also be cool to be able to edit product packages related only to a specific user group in the same user group modification screen.

Those are not currently possible but great ideas. I will add it to the feedback section.
