Default WYSIWYG template editor

Hi, I'm new to this software and don't know much about HTML or CSS. Is there a WYSIWYG editor I can use to edit/modify the templates?
Thanks

My personal opinion is that by the time you learn to use a wysiwig editor you could have learned enough html/css to get by. 68C templates are just html with some smarty variables sprinkled in so they can be edited with pretty much any wysiwig editor but you have to be sure the editor is set up to not bungle the smarty vars.

Your best bet for see what part of the html/css does what is to use firefox web browser with the firebug plugin.

Thanks Larry. Can I edit and save the template with this plugin or is it just for references purposes?

Its for reference BUT it does let you edit the css/html loaded in browser cache. What this means is that you can edit the css/html in the plugin and see the results of the change immediately on your screen. You can right click a section of the page and it will take you right to the html/css that represents where clicked it so its a very powerful tool.

For actual editing of the templates all you need is a text editor like notepad.

If you are running on mac osx I would highly recommend CODA as you can edit and FTP with the same application. It is not expensive either. Other options include bbedit, Dreamweaver of course .... The bottom line is it is best to learn a bit of html and smarty. No WYSIWYG editor is really going to be that great for modifying temlplates. another tool to get is the free web developer add-on for Firefox. Lets you do so many things like Firebug.

Try looking at some of the cheaper or free; combined editors and FTP programs - top of the shop but costs money is dreamweaver. Notepad++ with the FTP plugin is worth looking at.

Its a real shame CODA does not exist on the PC - it is by far the best general editor and ftp program I have come across in years.
