Default changed files in upgrade

Is there a place on this site that shows exactly what was changed in the new releases...I'm looking for more than just the files that were changed...it would be nice to know exactly what was changed in each file without having to run a comparison program.

Thanks

Thanks...I noticed this shows V4.1.5, I couldn't find the last release changes for V4.1.6.

Each version release includes a changelog file. The posted announcement of the release also has links to the changelog in the online documentation as well.

Because it appears that there are almost always template file changes, it would really make things easier to see what has changed to the individual files.

No, there is no documentation that shows exactly what was changed within individual files.

Of course, I've never seen any software company actually do that.

Im also not sure how this would benefit you anyway. The goal shouldnt be for your to copy the template changes from the new files to your old ones but for you to copy your templates changes from the old to the new. if YOU document the changes you have made as you do them then this should be pretty easy.

If you are stuck then use a file differencing program. Google is your friend.

That is also why the script is designed to use a layered template approach. That way you always have the default to fall back on. And yes a file comparison program is great in these situations.

I guess I'm used to using the template system from WordPress where these files are never changed (well, pretty much never) in the core upgrades...that way I never have to worry about layout.

For my classifieds theme, I started out with a combination of the Default and Purple theme and then started hacking away at the HTML until I had the look and functionality I was after...I guess I should have documented all the changes, but too late now

Thanks guys
