Default Extra fields TYPE: Child drop down list

Why the extra field type: "Child drop down list" couldn't be set to REQUIRED?

Any idea in how to implement this.

I can't say definitively, however it would make sense to me that you wouldn't be able to make something required when it is dependent on a parent drop down first. If it were required you could end up in an unresolved loop! If a different parent is chosen then the "required" child field is connected to, how would you ever choose the "required" child field?

For example if I create parent with:

Makes: Toyota, Honda, ...

And a Child drop down list with Models:

In toyota models: Corola, Camry, ...

In Honda models: Accord, Civic, ...

When the user select any of the Makes, then apprears the Model drop down, BUT the user is able to leave blank.

So that no have sense...

I think this is a tricky one for the reason Mike gives. You see I would say Honda is a category which does not accept adverts itself (it is a parent category) but the model of Honda does accept adverts as a subcategory. You actually get the desired behavior that way.
