place an ad only in subcategory

Hi there,
How can I stop the users from placing ads in the 'parent' category. (Designer version)
Say I have the following: For Sale-> Cars, Boats etc.
I don't want them to be able to place an add under 'For Sale' but rather 'Cars'.
The drop-down shows the all the categories.

Or can I change the checkout process, so that they select the category in a different way maybe? (not with a drop-down).

in yoursite.com/administration/products.php choose one of the packages, then see where it says

Please select which categories use this field.
Ctrl click for multiple selections.

Deselect the main categories.

In the administration, when you create the category itself, just select "Allow Ads" to "No". This is the line just above "Parent Category"
