I'm setting up a site with v4.0.9 designer, and see that the new beta v4.1.0 has a feature I'd really like to use -the ability to create a listing package and specifying that package to a particular user group-so only people in that particular user group can use the package. Because of potential of bugs in the new beta, I'd rather not use it in it's entirety. My question is: is it possible to import only that particular feature from v4.1.0 to v4.0.9 ?

Nope. As far as I know its built in to the new version. You would have to custom code that feature into the older version.

Alternativly you can easily add logic to the smarty template to only show certain packages to the user based on their user group.
