General formatting

I have a lot of categories on my home page. How do I remove the spacing between the categories so i can fit more in and not have to scroll down to view them. Also I know reducing the font size might come in handy but i cant seem to find the code in my style.css and layout.tpl

All the layout is handled by the html and CSS. The templates are all in /templates folder and the name of the subfolders in there should match the template name you have selected in admin to use for your site.

I recommend you download the firefox browser and the firebug add-on for it (both free) and it will help you identify exact where in the html and exactly what css element belongs to which part of a sites web page.
