Does anyone know how to add a birthdate field and add it to the database?

Use extra registration fields.
Go to admin - settings -settings - User Registration Fields and use a extra field.

However, that is already how I HAVE it setup. TO me this is not proper enough as I would like a dropdown box. I just dont know what file to edit.
I also need it saved in the database too. I have it setup in the admin as u mention and the user can manually type their info in.

That isnt good enough for my site though so I am trying to find a way for a dropdown box that only list the years that would make the person over 18 years of age.
