Question View Selected Category and Sub Category during checkout process?

Hi - I was wondering if it was possible to view the Category and sub category chosen in step 1 while placing an ad throughout the checkout process?

Thanks in advance!

I believe the $category variable is available to you in each of the checkout steps which you could choose to display on your page.

Hi seymourjames - thanks for your reply. I've had a look and can see these variables in the checkout steps. Have tried implementing them but can't seem to get them to show the name of the category, it just shows a number. What am I doing wrong?!

Thanks!

You will see the variable data you are asking for if it is present. If you place the smarty variable for a caregory ID number in the checkout then thats what you are going to see.

If the variable you chose to place in checkout was "category" and you got a number then thats what you were supposed to see. The script itself doesnt need names, its easier to compare and evaluate numbers. I dont believe the category name is actually used in checkout so you would have to add an additional database query to get the category name and pass it through the checkout procedure. This will require the developer version.

Hi Lhotch

I see - yes I have the developer version, I'll have a play with it see if I can get it to do that!

Has anyone else actually done this and could give me any additional advice?

Thanks!
