Default Extra field drop-down sorting

OK, my first "official" question...

I created an Extra Field called Issue Date, made it a drop-down field and added options such as:

September 08
October 08
November 08
December 08
January 09

In Step 3: Listing Details, the user sees a drop down ordered thusly:

December 08
January 09
November 08
October 08
September 08

I've copied and pasted in the options trying to get order to change, but things seem to revert to this odd order.

Is there a toggle somewhere to turn off this 'auto-ordering'?

No by default all extra field options are sorted alphabetically. This is done for the reason if you add a ton of options and later need to add another instead of having to delete and redo to get the desired placement.

What if you added them like:
2008-08
2008-09
2008-10
etc...

OK thanks. I'll go with that for now. We'll see if the suits will tolerate it.

Default Can we change it?

Eric,

Is there any way we can amend the alphabetizing to go in the order we specify. In my site, I need to have this ability?

There is no built in way. In order to accomplish this you would have to add another colum to the database where you specify a "weight" then alter the queries to use the weight instead of actual name and then also likely add an admin interface to allow the input of the weight.
