showlistings.tpl vs showlistings2.tpl

Default showlistings.tpl vs showlistings2.tpl

What's the difference between the two files?
Both files barely have any comment so I'm a bit confused.

one displays ad images across top, other down right side of ad.

Actually, I believe that is the answer for the viewlisting.tpl and viewlisting2.tpl.

The showlisting.tpl & showlisting2.tpl difference is that the showlistings.tpl file allows the user to sort the listings by clicking on the table headings.

Do you make the changed from showistings.tpl to showlistings2.tpl somewhere in the code or in the admin? If in the admin, where?
