Where do I change the text that appears in the upper left corner that says:
68 Classifieds
Welcome to our classifieds site.

I've checked through the admin settings several times and I don't see an option anywhere...

** Found the answer myself - it's in layout.tpl in the template folder **

This should be something that's managed in the Admin panel...not something to search for and edit manually.

Goto templates/default/layout.tpl you can open it with notepad and make the changes to the 68 Classified and the copyright at the bottom. Actually you can change alot from the layout.tpl

I cannot find the templates folder. I use the 68 classifieds hosted version. Can I not edit the tempate?

For the hosted editon you would login through ftp and then navigate to httpdocs/templates/default/layout.tpl to change this.

This is something you could have found easily by just doing on search on the forum.

Also, I have made available for free a downloadable "PDF" that addresses this exactly and more which is in a sticky post right at the very top of this topic. Modifying the default template in v4

I disagree, most users put their own template in, or replace it with a logo, so this is usually not an issue.
