Default City Field for registering and searching

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
v4.1.10 Live & v4.2.0 Test

What template are you using?
Custom

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:
For a while now something had been bugging me but I could shrug it off for a while, but not any longer .

When you register you have your usual fields for street etc. You have one for city, but its a normal text field. The problem im seeing is people will use this field for all sorts of wonderful bits of info...

aberdeenshire , high street, etc etc

When you enable this field for searching you are then given a drop down list. Is there anyway to change this so that city is either a drop down list on registration or when searching the city field becomes a normal text field. Otherwise if a user selects a town thinking its the best choice not seeing the other entries and gets only 1 listing in return the site is going to look useless...

What do you guys think?
