I have a very annoying bug, that only happens rarely with no obvious pattern in case of some of my users. I have the membership module installed, and configured in such a way, that I have a default membership, which has "User Group 6" assigned to as destination user group.

Now, what happens in some cases is that, the user signs up and logs in to his or her account and sees, that he does not get promoted to "User Group 6", but remains in "User Group 2". He even gets the default membership. I can see this in the admin section under coupons - the coupon for the name of the user is there. The user can see the coupon details too in his account, but he still does not get upgraded to "User Group 6". The strange thing is that, it only happens to a handful of my users. I have about 100 users at the moment, and it happened to approximately 7-8 of them. What I did was that I upgraded them manually to "User Group 6", but it is not a solution in the long term.

Has anyone experienced similar behavior, or does anyone know the reason - more importantly the solution to this problem?

Is this only happening for the the membership thats set to be default? What version of 68C are you running?

Hi Larry,
I am running 4.1.4 Developer version.
I only experienced it with default membership so far, but as all my users are under the trial period now, and no purchase has been made yet, potentially it could be the case with non default membership as well. When I was testing, it did not occur though.
Can it be an issue with certain users refreshing browsers, or hitting the back button of the browser at certain stage of the registration?

There were no default hooks in 68C when I started to create the mod that would trigger a mod when a user logged in for the very first time so I requested on.

check the file

/includes/classes/kernel/Login.php

and look for the function....

function _saveSession()

is the following line in that function?

$modules->call_hook('pre_save_session', $this->_userData['id']); // Call any module functions

Can you share the descount names of the handfull where the user group didnt change?And also the user names?
