Default YouTube module question

This question goes out to lhotch,

I'm looking at adding the YouTube module and was wondering if it could be changed easily to allow videos from sites other that YouTube?

I have my own video site and I would like classified advertisers to upload their video to my video site then add a link or embed into my 68Classifieds site.

My site is www.OOgleVideos.com

Thanks

Chippie

I moved this post since this is a direct question to the developer of this module.

I can't speak for the developer himself, but I can say that the module is specifically designed to use youtube video only. All video sites have their own protocols that need to be followed in order to embed video to a third party site through the use of their provided APIs and instructions.

As with any type scripting code, I'm sure this is possible to use your video site however with modifications to the core files of the module, however without any information as to what protocols or available APIs your video site uses, or the format the videos are in, no one would be able to answer how difficult or easy this would be.

Mike pretty much answered the question. If you wa nted to save the time of making your own module from the ground up and you have some coding knowledge you should be able to replace the you tube specific stuff with your site specific stuff.
