Default AdPeeps vs. PHPAdsNew

I've seen many posts about what programs are capable of serving ads but haven't seen a very good review of any of them.

Has anyone used AdPeeps with or without success? Share your experience.

I know a number of people have used openX PHPAdsNew, what are your successes or non-successes with that program?

AdPeeps is appealing because it claims that it is more automated (advertisers can place banners without interaction with site owners) which is appealing. I know that some administration would be necessary but the more automation the better when it comes to websites.

However I've been reluctant to sign up with AdPeeps because I haven't been able to find much info about sites that have used it successfully.

Please share your experience so the rest of us can benefit!

I have experienced integration problems with adpeeps conflicting with 68C modules. OpenX seems to be more stable.

OpenX seems to be a fairly reliable system, we have been using it for the last couple of years with good success. There are hiccups though as the newer script requires certain database permissions that many hosts do not allow. Also, forum support is very slow...so if you run into a hiccup, you may get frustrated.

Google ad manager is worth a look, it's free and always up to date. My only issue is that it is extremely hard to figure out and there is no guarantee that the service will always be free. Also, don't expect any support from the G-team as they don't offer any.

I took a quick look at the online demo for AdPeeps...dinosaur...yeeks. I have no experience with it, but personally wouldn't even consider it based on the demo alone.

I've been using openX since it was phpadsnew (Two name changes ago). I use it not only with different classifieds sites, but I also use it for all of my own non-classifieds sites. In addition, I also offer the use of it to some of my hosting clients as well. (It supports multi-tiered managers which you can assign to specific sites/publishers)

It does have a bit of a learning curve, but to simply have it serve ads just to one site is pretty straight forward. I haven't had any issues other than one time with an upgrade.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I'm sensing a theme. I'll give OpenX a try and see how it goes. I'm ok with the learning curve. I just wish there was better support on their forum. I've become accustomed to receiving lots of help on forums!

Hi,

I would suggest ad manager pro,
I am using it with my site : Damiun.nl - De marktplaats met hart voor goede doelen
And it works great, its easy to create your own template and i am happy.

Seems a little expensive considering that OpenX is free. What made you decide on Ad Manager Pro when you were making your decision?

Hi,

Advertisers could sign up themselves, they could create a ad themselves the only thing i have to do is accept or deny the ad.

As far as i know with openx you have to create accounts for advertisers,
And i didnt regret my decision because i created ads myself with the text :"do you want to advertise here, click here". and some people are have an account and ads,

And ad manager pro has a great support who is working hard for you (they added special tax for me)
And i believe ad manager pro has more features than openX,
Ad manager pro has the features to create pdf invoices, pm the admin and stuff.

Dominick

I will make some screenshots and show it

Damiun,

Thanks for the info and screenshots. I just checked out their demo and it looks like it may do what I was wanting it to do. I'll definitely consider them.
