Default looking for the Constructive Criticism

We would like some Constructive Criticism about our site. Please be honest. We are finding people not staying as long as we think they should and are hoping it's now the colors/fonts/layout etc.

Overall I like the colors and general construction.

It seems like you need to do some tweaking, however. The home page on my system (Mac OS X, Safari 3.0), has content running off to the right outside of the container. That makes some of it impossible to read and you have to scroll horizontally which is a big no-no in web design.

I also noticed that any of the ads that have multiple images causes the table column with the ad information to become very narrow. This makes it aesthetically unpleasant and hard to read, especially the description.

A little fine tuning and you should be good to go!

I think we have fixed the problem with it running off the screen on lower resolutions. It was becasue the features ads were showing 4 columns. We change it to 3 now. Please let me know if you are still seeing this.

Default Nice and Simple

I like the site and it is very easy to use. I would suggest putting a short description on the home page of the intent of the site. Also, have you considered making the pic larger when users are printing out an ad?

Talking

Hi,
I suggest having a picture viewer like lightbox. It is better than the user having to use browser back buttons.
Secondly i would make the title of the featured listings a link to the listing.

pauljr,
I believe there is to much white areas on the top of your page. But I do love the icons under the browse catagories section! And I would recomment guarding against ads being featured if they do not have a picture. And would take the number of listing off the home page. I found if users dont see in the hundreds they leave. Very nice site! feel free to critique mine! I can use the help!
