Default Encoded Files and Ion Encoder

Hi,
We are looking at purchasing a classifieds script for our site and yours is at the top of the list!. Just a couple of queries which I think I need to be sure of before we purchase. First off, as you state your files are encoded, what does this entail and how are the encoded files affect the running of the software?

I think I have it right in that every week or so you query these some files to ensure they exist and contain the right license code, what would happen if your servers go down or you go out of business. Would this make the script on my servers defunct and not useable? Your script certainly looks like it will suit our needs very nicely, but these encoded files worry me!

Also can the script be installed if the ion encoder is not permitted on our server?

Many Thanks,
Steve

First off, many thanks for your interest in our script.

The developer's edition only has a few encrypted files which means that over 99% of the code is accessible.

The files are able to run via either 1) runtime loaders (freely available from www.ioncube.com/loaders.php) or 2) the editing of the php.ini file. More information is available at the bottom of this page: http://www.ioncube.com/faq.php

The way we verify your license is:
-Every few days, your site calls our server and reports the address that your license is installed on.
-If the site matches the site address listed with the license, a new 'key' file is generated and your site continues to run.
-If the address doesn't match, your administration fails but the public side of the site continues to work.

If for some reason we were to go out of business, we would unencrypt the files and remove the license requirements.

Thanks again for your interest.
