Actually I have just noticed something that to me is actually very fundamental :|

You have to pay extra to have friendly urls ?!?!?!??!?!

I know I can bring myself to understand a lot of things and possibly see reason, but for the life of me I cannot begin to understand why something as fundamental as friendly urls is excluded and charged seperately when every other system out there includes it as standard.

Sorry, but is there a logical explanation for this at all?

Many thanks,

1. Add a link to joomla into the layout.tpl template file. A 5 second thing to do. There are however different levels of joomla integration.
2. Yes you can display latest listings from a search, from a category or just everything. Getting featured to always be top is a small modification if I remember correctly.
3. Read the post about friendly urls. This is an add-on which is purchased. It is not essential in my opinion but a nice to have for certain types of site. Search engines have no problems nowadays with php formatted urls. The main benefit of this module is to make urls which are more human friendly. It just depends on your requirements. For search engine optimisation what is more important is the quality of your content, links coming into your site, page titles and meta descriptions.

Hi there,

I realise that a php programmer may decide to do a full bridge, which is in a sense what I would have hoped for. There is a certain look I have got now with the joomla site which I wanted to maintain for C68, please the whole menu structure etc.

The other thing was the module positioning in joomla is great so I could have easily advertised businesses. If you know of a full bridge available to sync users etc and menus please let me know, otherwise its a manual affair lol. The same for forums, I can get a bridge for smf or phpbb and joomla, but not sure if there is one for c68
