Default Pre-Sale: Using on Existing Site

Hey folks,

Impressive product. I've got an existing site -- it's a news/events/photo site, Welcome — Project Q Atlanta -- and want to add a classifieds piece to it.

My questions is this: Can 68 Classifieds be plugged into my current site, so it's housed within the existing domain and put in place on pages with my existing page templates? I want to keep the traffic it generates on the current site, fold the classifieds into the current look and feel, and make it a seamless experience for the user.

We do something similar for our events calendar. It's powered by Trumba, which also hosts it, but it's plugged into our site (and page templates) through a few snippets of javascript.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Matt

It will take a bit of work to customise the 68C layout and internal template files to match but it is certainly doable. You will need skills in html, css and perhaps a bit of smarty too depending upon what you end up doing.

Thanks for the reply.

We've got the web development company that built the site that can tackle it. I'm just digging for more specifics before I take this to them.

Any suggestions on how to approach something like that? Would it be best to buy the software, or use your hosted version?

Do you have clients to point me too that have integrated it into an existing site that's not solely a classifieds site?

Thanks!

Matt

Best 68C answer that. Technically it does not matter.

Looking at your site I would probably get the Designer or Developer edition so that the url would remain on your site. Our hosted edition requires a domain name so it may not be the best option for site integration.

I know I have seen a lot of customers integrate it with existing sites. But I am drawing a blank on the site names or urls.
