Default Spam protection

Does this have Captcha and/or spam protection built into the script to stop the bots and spammers from automatically registering and posting their crap? I don't want a script unless it provides this.

You can use Freecap and many people also use Recaptcha (an add on which is free) as it is a slightly better deterrent. However, I must say nowadays it is not bots you need to be only thinking about but people who will make accounts and then spam from that. I think it is quite important that user registrations for accounts are validated by the site owner for example.

Default Seller approval

So is it possible

1.) to have a field that captures the ip address of a newly registering seller so that one can see that if he registers with an address in South Carolina, that the IP address is not from Nigeria

2.) set the registration so that the admin approves it before the person begins to post

3.) admin moderated listings where the admin also has to approve the listing.

It is more work but ensures that the customers are kind of protected from fraud?

thanks

Why not use your .htaccess to ban ranges of IP addresses in the first place from countries you prefer to block. I ban at least 3 countries.

Your hosting provider should be able to advise.

You can also set the system up so all registrations require admin approval. You can also remove contact functionality for any one who is not logged on as a member.
