Default i am considering purchasing your software.

i have already been working on a site that i have running but i am very unhappy with how it is working, and their customer support is horrid. so i have decided to dump their software and start over, i found your software by chance and have been reading, and i hope it wont bother you that i do have alot of questions, i dont want to waste my money again.

is the software able to be modified, as in put up my own logo and so on?

can we make an advertisement section free?

when a customer designs an ad do they pay before its posted, or do they have to fund an account? i want pay per ad, there are to many headaches in funding accounts, the site i have right now requires a customer to fund his/her account then go and place an ad, it becomes very confusing.

can icons, or gifs be put up in place of the folder icons on catagories

can you tell where you are located city state?

and how long have you been in business?

do you have another contact method besides email?

please understand we have had a horrible experience with another software developer, and we are not reflecting that on you in any way. we are just looking for courtesy and honesty, and the most for our money. thank you for any help.

You should take a look at some live sites

http://www.68classifieds.com/livesites/
This will give you an idea what exactly can be done. Keep in mind,
there are 2 main types of 68c software (not counting hosted)...designer and developer versions.
The designer version allows template changes and general appearance changes.... the developer version allows you to make actual code changes
and modifications. As for the support here....it is AWESOME!!!!!!!
I am not paid to promote them nor did I receive any kind of discount.
I paid for my designer version just like anyone else that has it.
You will not be disappointed with the software or the support!

I am 68C customer since March 2006. Before I used other classified softwares and dumped them. Believe me this is the best Classifieds software on the market.
I leave your questions to be answered by Developer or Moderators just want to tell that if you will purchase Developer version you will be able to do practically everything whatever you want.
The support is great through this forum and support ticket system. The people on this forum are helping each other as well.
Same as Larry I am not paid to promote 68C nor did I receive any kind of discount. I just love this software.
If you will purchase 68C you will not regret it.

The look of the site can be completely changed via the templates, and this goes for both versions, developer and designer. The difference here is that you can change the way the script functions with the developer version and are really only limited to your own skill. Even then you'll find modifications, modules, or other help that will supplement or teach you what you need to know in the forums.

You can create categories and assign your packages (free, other types) based on the category. Yes you can make any category have free ads as well as allow them to buy extras like bold highlight etc.

No, the customer simply creates the ad and then enters their payment info ie check, credit card, paypal etc.

Yes, the folder icon is just the default. You can upload individual icons for each category via the administration panel.

I'll leave this for the owners, they are based in North Carolina and I've been a customer since August 2005.

I totally understand how you feel, support often times really makes or breaks software. I think if you take some time to look through the forums you will find out what you can expect for support. You will see that in many times multiple answers have been provided within minutes. They also have a ticket system and bug tracker to provide additonal support.

If you haven't already please try the demo: http://www.68classifieds.com/demo.php

View the live sites (as suggested by another member): http://www.68classifieds.com/livesites/

If all else fails they offer a money back for 15 days I think, you'll need to verify that with the staff of course.

Ask away if you still have any questions.

i was working with the demo versions, and i really like the operations so far, i was having trouble with the membership and coupon/discount code setup, and will i have to manually approve new customers? or can i set it for auto approve? certain customers i would like to have purchase a membership i setup and use a coupon/discount code to advertise certain things for free and same member pay for other listings, is this possible with this software?

Hi let me try to answer any questions that may have been left out:
Quote:
can you tell where you are located city state?
We are located in Belmont NC which is about 10 miles west of Charlotte NC.

Quote:
and how long have you been in business?
We have been in business for 3 years.

Quote:

Right now we only have the ticket system and the support forums.

I would have to see your database but I do not forsee it being to difficult. I believe I would need to see your database table and the user registration code so I can see how the password encryption is set up.

If I missed anything please let me know.

Currently installed costs $49.99 over the price of the product. So that would cover the installation portion. I really could not give a price estimate for the user migration because I haven't seen the type of format they are in.
