Default Hosting for 68Classifieds

Hi all. I will be purchasing the 68C script within the next few days, but I am unsure as to what hosting company to choose. My domain is registered with Godaddy.com and they have a hosting plan for $4.79/month which includes 150Gb space, 1500Gb monthly transfer, 25 Sql 200Mb Databases.Would this be enough for a classifieds site hopefully with substantial traffic in the future. I have also been looking at Hostgator who offer a hosting plan for $8,95/month with unlimited disk space, bandwidth and databases. Is it worth the extra money for the extra disk space and bandwidth? Is one better than the other?
Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

All I can say is that we use hostgator and have never had any problems. Nor our customers to my knowledge. Works first time. When minor support issues have come up it has been 24/7 quality service by support who solve it on the spot. For the small amount of money extra I would run with them again. We host all our development and demo sites with them at TemplateCodes.com

We have a few recommended hosting companies listed at the bottom of this page:
Requirements

Personally I would recommend any of those over godaddy but that is just because godaddy is a little harder to install 68 classifieds on.

I agree. we have had issues with customers using godaddy and others. $10 a month is about right - after that you get what you pay for.

ixwebhosting.com is pretty good. Support is a little slow, upto 24 hours for a response but its only $5 a month with unlimited everything.
One of my sites was doing 200gb a month(not classifieds) and they never said anything and with about 100gb of storage used.

24X7 support with hostgator, online chat with a real person, normally less than 2 mins response time, unlimited everything. Works first time with 68C and our stuff. No support requests for this and that necessary. $4.95 to $12.95 pcm. The business package at $12.95 even gives you an SSL certificate FREE, a dedicated IP address FREE and a FREE toll number. I can also personally say it is not hype either.

LOL - I don't even work for them but I am a fan so will always push for them.

I also recommend Hostgator. GoDaddy is great for registering domains, but in my opinion hosting leaves a lot to be desired. I've been doing web design and I do web hosting as well and even for me with over a dozen years of experience in working with a plethora of different hosting "control panels", GoDaddy's is the worst most complicated non-intuitive control panel that I've ever worked with.

In addition, in order for you to use ioncube (required for 68 Classifieds as well as many other scripts available) with php5 (php4 isn't even supported by php any longer), you must write and upload your own php5.ini file. Following their own directions to do so does NOT work as you have to find your actual path to include in that file and they make it extremely difficult to find.
