Hello, I was wondering if "68 classifieds" have a feature that would let the seller's open up a store with a subdomain. Then the seller would Automatically have a subdomain for his/her page. For Example:
Let's say a user called "ABC" wanted to register as a seller and open up a store. Can 68 Classifieds provide an automated tool that creates a subdomain for the user ABC? Resulting to abc.mysite.com (as his/her store page). I'm looking for a script/software that would give me the same options that this site offers Dikani: Online Shopping in Kuwait, Create your own shop, sell online. It might display in another language, you can change it into english. You'll see the tab "Open a shop", that's what I exactly want. Is this possible with 68 classifieds? Hope I was clear, sorry about my english. Thank you in advance. |

Nope.
Subdomains and how they are handled is more of a server function and way beyond the scope of 68C. Also just to add the 68C seller store is nothing more than an image and text about the seller it doesnt actually offer any sort of purchasing options, inventory etc for the seller. That once again is beyond what 68C is designed for.

I think your gonna be pretty hard pressed since as I mentioned subdomains are generally specific to the server and how it is set up to manage them.

Seller store on a subdomain is something i think 68c should look into, sure the administrator would have to make the subdomain but you could charge for having it.

I wish that would happen. Cause if it did, then I'd definately purchase the product, Looks good and affordable.
Could someone actually work on that? |

That is not in our current plans. So many servers are set up differently that it would probably not be something easy you can just roll out.

A guide on how to modify what?
Modifications are as varied as the people who use the script, creating a guide on how to modify the script would be worthless for people who dont know PHP unless it addressed their specific modification. Its not practical to create a guide showing people how to modify the site with specifics because everyones desired mod is different. The best way to modify your site at the script level is to learn PHP or hire someone to do it for you. Keep in mind that not all modifications are practcal/doable. In the case of creating subdomains, thats usually something someone does via their servers web hosting control panel. This is likely not something you are going to be able to tie an external script into unless you have a dedicated server under your full control (have you priced these??) and even then it will likely involve an intimate knowledge of the servers control scripts and as Eric said they vary from host to host.
