Default Limiting extra fields to certain packages?

I am new here and have been looking at classified solutions, and yours seems excellent!

I do have a question. Is it possible to limit the access of an extra field to certain ad packages? Or is this strictly a global thing that you can only apply to certain categories?

My idea here is to create more features for the higher-priced packages (similar to how you can add the photo features).

Hope I have made some sense here...

Thanks,

Tommy

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for your interest in 68 Classifieds.

Currently the extra fields are only tied to a category and are independant of the packages. I do think this is a good and might be changed a later point.

Sorry, and if you have any other questions let me know.

Wink Wow, that was fast!

Thanks Eric.....you are doing great work....!

So there is no way to do any sort of modification that would allow that to work now? (I guess I think I need it pretty badly...)

Is there a way for the user to add more than one URL to a listing? That might cover what I need for now...

Thanks,

Tommy

Sure there is a way. But I am not sure how involved this would be and currently we do not have time to take on any custom work but some of our forum members might be interested.

Yes you could do this through the extra fields then modify the viewlisting template file to make that field a url field. It should be really easy and we can help with this.

Thanks Eric! You rule!

So for any modifications of this sort, I would need to purchase the developer edition, correct?

Well, at least for option #1?

Thanks.

Yes you would need the developer edition to edit something as big as that.
