Default Hosting Packages

What are the limits of the webhosting. We are looking to register a website to sell classified ads for the horse industry - nationwide.
When full we are looking at 70+ catagories & subcatagories in 50 states and around the world.
We will need 10 email addresses.
How much traffic will hosting with you be able to handle before it crashes?
What percent of the time will it be down if we host with you?
Do we need to register the webaddress with you first or someone like Network Solutions?
Thank you again for all your help. You guys are awsome.

We initially set the hosting limits low and then just adjust them to your needs. We've never hosted a customer where diskspace or bandwidth has become an issue. The number of categories won't be a problem and the location of your visitors won't be a problem. You can create as many email addresses as you can manage.

In the last year, I think we've been down a total of about 6 hours. So, if my math is right, that's more than 99.99% uptime.

You need to register the domain with a name registrar and then 'point' the name at our servers. We'll send you the information when you sign up.

Thanks-

Default RE: Web Hosting limits

We are looking to make a nationwide website like Horsetopia or HorsesMidWest but to include more than just horses for sale - anything and everything for the horse industry. Ad sales for the horse industry to include pics etc. We may or may not - in the end - be too big for you - we have high aspirations for our website.

So with that in mind -

How much disk space and bandwidth is too much - 150GB disk and 1500GB bandwidth ok?

How easy is it to switch to another hosting company and what is the cost?

Thank you

We've been hosting a horse classifieds site now for the last 4 years. It has over 150 categories and, on average, about 2,500 listings at any given time. It rarely hits the numbers you're throwing out. As I mentioned, we'll adjust the limits as needed.

If you're that concerned, you should probably get a dedicated server at some other datacenter. In a nutshell, we're a script company who also offers hosting, not vice versa.

Yes, it's very easy to switch. It takes about an hour.

Ok,

A few more questions - just trying to know how long this software is going to last us so....

1. If we go over the aformentioned limits - you will grant us that additional space. Is there additional costs for that?

2. Can we add additional bells and whistles using HTML code for the users -
such as WYSIWYG editors where they can customize their ads (bold, color, fonts)
icons or eye catchers
to ability to print signs & flyers

3. Can we use 2CheckOut.com as out payment gateway?

Thank you

- Unless your site becomes so big that it affects the performance of all the other sites we host, there are no additional fees.

2. Can we add additional bells and whistles using HTML code for the users -

- Yes.

3. Can we use 2CheckOut.com as out payment gateway?
- we don't support 2CheckOut "out of the box". If you want to use 2CO, you will have to create the gateway files yourself.

Default Thank you - Support

Well, I think you sold us.

I see where we can add our own payment gateway. If need additional support on exactly what html code to type in and where for this feature or any other mentioned before, is there support on exactly how to do that?

Thanks again. We will be placing our order here soon.

Thank you to you and to Eric.

Rob - it's assumed that you either know html or have access to the services of someone who does. We're happy to advise you on what you need to do. However, if you don't know the terminology or jargon, it's going to make it impossible for us to help.

You're able to create as many email addresses as you can manage.

Thanks-
