Default Demo site discount functionality broken?

Have been demo-ing the software, and tried creating a discount code. I set the discount rate at 100 (i.e., 100% so the ad should be free) yet when I went through the ad creation, it charged full price. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

When creating a coupon or discount you need to double check a few things.

1. It is set for at least one day in the future.
2. It is assigned to the usergroup you are a member of. If you are logged in as demo then you would be in the administrator usergroup.
3. At least one is available to be used.

I think it's a bug.

To recreate it - fill in all the details for the coupon, but only select "registered users" as who can use it.

I then created the advert as the demo account (ie., admin user) - it accepts the coupon (no error) - but the discount is not applied.

If you then look at the order tracking in the admin panel, it shows the coupon was used, but the discount is not applied, but the "number available" count in the coupon management is decremented.

I think at the point you apply the coupon - the "invalid coupon" message should be displayed if you can't use that coupon (same as you see if the coupon doesn't exist etc.) - i.e., if it's only for registered users and an admin user tries to use it...

(FWIW, this seems like a situation that in reality is unlikely to occur very often, but nevertheless might point to other bugs in the coupon management stuff.)

I will run some tests. Also please note the demo is running like version v4.0.0 which does have some bugs in it.

I just tested it in the demo and used the coupon code: Coup2

I had no issues.

Yeh - sorry, Coup1 and Coup2 are setup correctly (i.e., both registered and admin) but Coup3 is registered only...

Placed an add using Coup3 with no problems.

Is that user an admin user?

No it was just a registered user. Now it is the top of the hour so the demo is reset. Let me see if I can upload a private demo that will not reset.

Here is a private demo I setup for you:

UN: demo
PW: demo

I just did a basic setup and it should work correctly.
