I am pretty sure I'm ready to buy the designer edition. I am staying with a relative and
when I clicked your order button it takes me to a "can't find server" page because her
computer settings are messed up. Anyway, my question is do I need to be online to open this software and start adding classifieds listings?

My plan is to go to the library today and dowload the software to a usb drive, then bring it home and save it on my pc, (that I brought from home but am not able to get a wireless connection) then should I be able to open the software and start editing it on my pc? (no internet access)

The other question I had about the designer edition, I know it is for changing the layout only. Does that mean that you are not able to change anything about the software, even a small add on? I was reading through some of the questions people were asking on making changes and some of them were being told that it was possible to make the change through a little programming. Should I assume these were people who had the developer edition? Are now changes possible (besides design) with the designer edition?

One last question. Do you offer any marketing tips on making your classified site successful?
I'm sure there are some successful site owners here, any tips/ marketing forum? I do have business marketing experience but would be interested in hearing from people already making it work.

You don't necessarily have to be online but you do have to be using a server. This can be localhost or an online hosted account.

You should be able to do that. It comes in zip format.

I guess it really depends on the nature of the change. If it is with the underlying script code then yes you would need the developer. If it is in the design or plugins then you wouldn't.

Honest piece of advice is to buy the developers edition.

Think of it as buying a house. Yes yo can paint it and make it look pretty but you cant actually do any structural work. Want to build a garage? Extend that kitchen, You cant. Like I said though, you can paint it any color you like
