Default Pre-Sale User Questions

Hi,

We currently operating an online magazine which charges a yearly subscription we are thinking about adding your classified software to our website but we are wondering is it possible to setup your software so that paying subscribers of our magazine can get basic listing free and only have to pay for upgrades such as photos etc..?

Thank you for your help.

Yes, you can define a package that offers ads for $0 and they only have to pay if they want featured, bold or highlighted. Then if you want to offer other ad options with more words, more pics etc create a different ad package.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Is it possible to setup a free basic listing package that only my paying subscribers can have access to? if so how?

Thanks.

68C does make use of "user groups" and with a little custom coding at the template level you can have packages displayed or hidden based on the users "user group".

Right now when a user registers they become part of the "registered users" group and you would have to manually log into the 68c admin to change a new user from a "registered user" to a user in your new "subscription user" group.

Im sure this process could be automated but how to do it would depend a lot on what your current subscription tracking system is capable of.

Hi,

We are currently using a wordpress based website which runs a user database.

Can this be integrated into 68Classified?

As I explained on our wordpress site we have basic registered users (basically anyone who registers) and then we have paying "premium" members and we would like it if our paying member could automatically have access to free "basic" classified listings, is this possible?

Is it possible to tie our wordpress database to 68Classified?

Thanks.

I guess that all depends on what you mean by "Integrated". Integration means a lot of different things to a lot of different people and varies depending on their ultimate goal.

Basically both word press and 68C store their user data in a database. For one of the scripts to recognize users registered for the other thee are a lot of things to consider.

Do you limit acount creation to just 68C or to just word press or to both? If limited to just one of them the registration needs to be disable on the other and the script that handles registration needs to be modified so that it writes data to both databases. Then you also have to consider lost password recovery, user account changes etc which make things even more complex.

Another option would be to write you own registration, password recovery and account change script then disable it on both word press and 68c.

The short answer is yes but there are a lot of things to consider and work out.

Larry,

Thank for your assistance on this.

I feel that we could continue to go round and round on this topic based on variables, but what I'm truly looking for is the simplest method possible to achieve our goal.

We do not have any set idea of how it must be done and we are not greatly technical when it comes to writing code so let me outline the details:

1. We currently operate a wordpress website with basic and paying users
2. We would like to add 68 Classified to our website
3. We would like for all users to have to sign up via our wordpress site
4. We would like for our paying subscribers to receive complimentary basic classified listings.
5. Can this be done, if so, how?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

This could be done but would require some custom changes.

Here is what I am thinking.

Change the links from the classifieds to the wordpress registration. Then create some sort of cron job that exports the users to the classifieds.

Then for your paying subscribers add them to a new usergroup and setup a 100% discount that is only available for that group.

suzkaw,

Thanks for your reply.

Do you know of anyone who could do the coding to export the users from my wordpress site to the classified side?

If so, how long would it take and how much would it cost?

Thanks.
