Default A few pre-sell questions

Hey there, we're going to be implementing a system for selling (print) ads and I'm trying to determine if 68classifieds is a tool we can use.

A few questions.

For user registration, can we add fields here? We'd like to capture some user demographics (would probably be a few drop-down fields) for every user.

Also how open is registration? Could we use it to control access beyond the classified store (by checking sessions/cookies or something)?

We want to take payment by credit card or give the option for customers to be invoiced. It looks to me like that is supported, correct?

The data I'm assuming is being stored in a database. Is it in plain text so I could write reports to generate for the print folks? (We plan on buying the the full version of the software and running it on our server.)

Lastly, how much can the user experience be customized? The demo store has you pick a category on 1 page, then something else the next page and so on. Is it possible to re-arrange the order and/or combine options on a single page?

Thanks in advance for any input.

We hope to make a decision in the next few days. This is a fast-track project.

Hi there,

The site will do all that you want it to do and lots more.

68 Supports several payment gateways like paypal, authorize.net and a couple of others.

As for reports you can print off anything I guess. Does that not increase your carbon footprint though?

If you are into your Neat Drilldowns so to speak (blatant sales pitch), I have probably the best drilldown ajax checkout system there is as a module in my shop. I also have a registration mod that drills down the users geographic location or lets them type in should their location not be on your list. If you want anything else ajaxy, pm the master

Yes with the developer edition and some custom coding.

I am sure this is possible as well. Again would require some custom coding.

Yes it includes a check/money order gateway that can be used for this.

Yes it is stored in a database and a MySQL database to be specific. Sorry no plain text.

You customize every bit of it. Some html knowledge is beneficial here.

Thank you for your answers. I apologize for my delay in getting back to you but I got 'sidetracked' by another product that I thought could solve both our 'classifieds' problem and some other things as well.

However after installing a trial version of that product I see that it won't work for us.

Which leads me to my next question. Is there any kind of trial download for 68classifieds? I know there's a live demo but that doesn't really let me get a feel for how customizable it is.

Thanks again.

Hi,

No currently we do not offer a free demo or trial. However we do have a 14 day money back guarantee so you can purchase it and play around for up to 14 days and if you are not happy we will refund you.

How long does it take to process an order? Our IT Director placed an order yesterday but so far no response. Order would be from Framingham, MA.

Hi,

It looks like it is showing as authorized. So you just have to login and download it.
http://www.68classifieds.com/customers/

Now I do want to inform you that we had two orders next to each other from the domain ehub. But different email addresses.

Ah, ok. I think IT was expecting something to be sent to them or something...

If you have an order under account pasmith that wasn't completed, that was me and you can cancel/purge that order.

Thanks as always for the quick response!

I would have to place a test order to verify but I believe on our thanks page it just has a receipt and a link to login and download it.

I also deleted the other order.

Thanks for becoming a customer!
