Hi,
I would like a User (not administrator) to be able to create/add their own Category/Subcategory during runtime? Particularly during their initial registration at the classifieds website? Could this be done? Would it require a module or master source code modification? Thanks, Jason. Melbourne Australia. |

You could probably achieve this with a module. You'd have to be careful not to allow them to delete the categories, since doing so might have an impact on all the other listings. You would also have to create some clean up method, since you will likely end up with many test/fake categories or have categories with no listings that nobody else would use. Another drawback is how you would handle abandoned listings. Since they are created but just inactive you'd have an empty cateogry/subcategories with an abandoned ad inside. It is doable, but not advised.
