Arrow Pre-Sales questions

Hello,

I need to get some information please. I have been asked to set up a classifieds ad site, simular to craigslist...for the purpose of people to barder.

This client wants to launch the site in 10 major cities, and wants to run the site free for 30 days... then turn it into a paid feature to post an ad.

Can this be done with this script? and what is the ease of use to set up?

I am having to do this site for free for this particular client, and have to come out of pocket for the script...so I cant afford the extras such as having the site installed for me.

Also, can I edit the look of the pages to make them look intergrated with the home page of the site that I design?

thanks so much,
Steve

Hi Steve-

Thanks for your interest in 68 Classifieds.

You can define different packages through the admin panel. So, to begin with, you create a free ad package and an ad package that requires payment. At the end of 30 days, delete the free package.

Installing the script is pretty simple. You need to create a database through your host's control panel and have your license key ready. Then, complete the installation interview and you're done.

68 Classifieds uses the Smarty templating system. The design of all the pages is controlled through one file called the layout.tpl.php file. Basic html knowledge is all that's needed to change the design.

There may be A LOT of changes that need to be made to get your classifieds to be laid out like Craig's list. The reason for this is that all the design has been stripped out of a 'Craig's list' type of layout and replaced with tons of formatted content instead. I'm sure it can be done but I'm not sure about how much time it'll take.

Thanks again-

68C comes with 3 templates, which you can modify to suite your own needs/taste or purchase one from 68mods.com. I am not aware of anyone else who has any plug and play templates.

That was also my goal when I designed my site. I started with the default template that comes with 68c. I tried to make a clean, uncluttered site. You can see what I did with the default template by clicking here.
