A Few Pre-Sales Questions

Hi

I've spent a week researching every classifieds solution out there! IMHO this app has to be the 'classiest' 'slickest' and best written of the bunch.

My only problem is this. Being UK based I need to change the fields from 'state' to 'county' etc etc...Do I really need to buy the developer version to do this? I mean an extra $100 just to change such a simple thing?

Also is there an upgrade path from designer to developer. I need to test my ideas before throwing an extra $100 at it.

Perhaps you can release a UK only version?..hehehe

No. Developer not needed. There is a "Language" file where you can modify everything displayed.

Yes you can upgrade at any time. You would just have to pay the price difference.

I am not sure what you are refering to here. Where are you wanting to add/remove fields from?

Got it! I see that you can add fields to the listing display! This app just gets better and better!!!

Just to clear things up - at this stage I don't really need to go making any major modifications - it's wicked as it is! But how do I change things like the message that appears if they want to pay by check? For example they click they do not have paypal and want to send a check - I want to put a message like 'Hello, thank you for placing your ad, please send your rather large wad of cash to mr. greedy chops, the street, the town - and make checks payable to 'youmustbekidding enterprises'...' or something along those lines!

This would be a manual template change but you could just open the templates/default/checkout/thanks.tpl.php and then locate this line:
{$message}

Replace it with:

{if $smarty.post.act=="check"}
<p>Please send me all your money to: <br />
my address<br />
my city, state, zip<br />
Thanks again!</p>
{else}
{$message}
{/if}

I use Adpeeps. A few lines of code goes into the template files.
