Default software license, sub-domains, etc.

I read somewhere on the forum that the license for one script can be uploaded an unlimited number of times if it is uploaded on the same database.

Does this mean.....

Example: That if I had a domain like hotelsinamerica.com as my main database that I could upload the script here and then also on each sub-domain on the same database. Example: newyork/hotelsinamerica.com and the same for all the other fifty states?

Also, I have another question regarding instructions with the developer version.

Are the instructions for installation very user friendly (for newbies to php) or are they written with the assumption that the person knows quite a bit about it?

I am new to php, databases, etc. But, I am slowly figuring it out.

Thanks

The license is tied to your domain. It has nothing to do with the database itself. You can install multiple times to the same domain as in subdomains. (e.g. myclassifieds.com, subclass.myclassifieds.com, otherclass.myclassifieds.com)

Installation is quite simple and you should probably read through it to decide whether or not it is within your ability. If not, then 68 Classifieds offers installation as do I and other third party developers.

You do NOT need to know anything about php or databases to use 68 Classifieds. You do have to know enough to to create a database at your web hosting service. Most hosting services allow you to do this in your account control panel quite easily.

You do have to have a basic understanding of basic (X)HTML and CSS to be able to make design changes.

Do you really want to have 50 different databases and subdomains? That will be a nifghtmare of a management issue. There are two ways to attack your basic goal (I think it is your goal). You can make each category a state or if for some reason you do not want to do that as categories are being used for something else then you can use the listing filter which we currently offer. Either way is a solution. So basically, you could have categories as your states and then use extrafields to denote the grade of hotel. For example 1 star, 2 star etc.

For example: not 50 states but 26 geographic regions (happens to be french) for selling houses

Default Thanks

Thanks for the answers!!!

I did look at the instructions and I believe I will be able to install it myself. It looks easy.

And, yes 50 states would be a lot. It was just an example. I am actually in Canada so it would be ten provinces and three territories...

Still - I would handle it the way I suggested. You will find it all works out much easier that way.
