advertising, different ads on each category?

I would like to have a classifieds site that is state specific...all 50 states.

And I want to offer advertising, but I want to have that ads to be state specific.
Example, the Texas section will have ads from businesses in Texas. the Florida section will have ads from businesses in Florida.

Is is possible to set this up this way?

Not without a huge number of categories being defined.

You would need to have your categories arranged so each state was a category and had the whole hierarchy defined under each state. So 50 x number of advertising categories. The only way presently to get a similar effect is to use the listing filter which you can see here My Classifieds Website . This allows the user to filter on a particular location.
