V3.1.0 is now released

After the long wait v3.1 is now released and ready for download from our member section. https://www.68classifieds.com/members/

We would like to thank everyone for being a customer and supporting 68 Classifieds. Without your help and input we wouldn't and couldn't be where we are today.

NOTE: As always before upgrading please make a backup of your site and your database. This version makes a number of database changes and also alters you existing connections file. This is important and if any thing goes wrong it gives you the ability to revert back.

Version 3.1 has a number of changes and every php file has change from version 3.0.x. We did try and keep the template files the same but some have changed as well.

The modifications we sell (zip code search and SEO urls) have been upgraded as well and the new versions are located in your member section. The SEO mod now has two versions, one that keeps your url's the same and a new one that includes the listing's title as part of the url. The first was built to keep backwards compatibility.

On to the fun stuff.

New Features:

• Complete core rewrite from v3.0
• New Module System - This allows you to install modifications without affecting the core code so they will not be overwritten during upgrades.
• New Membership System
• New Parent Child extra fields. This enables you to use make -> model or something similar for extra fields.
• New file upload for an extra field.
• New extra field quick order changer.
• New SMTP mode for sending emails.
• New tinymce integration for the administration.
• New administration layout to make it easies than scrolling all the way down the page.
• Administration templates are now in the administration/templates folder.
• New template directory system so it looks for the template you have defined first then if it isn�t found it looks in the default folder.
• Two new templates added to help in demonstrating the new template system defined above.
• New debug setting to help in finding templates in use. You add debug=TRUE to the querystring which will popup a window with all the template files in use as well as any variables used.
• New administration template editor.
• New language or template switcher. Using cookies you can allow users to change templates or the language by adding yoursite.com?template=default or yoursite.com?language=english to the querystring.
• When logged in as administrator new links are added to the viewlisting page so you can quickly edit a listing.
• New modules � Seller Store, User and/or Listing Rating, ad notification, ad reporting.
• New category link so you can force the category to go to another url.
• New category promo text which will display above the category table.
• New category weight. The categories now sort by weight then alphabetical.
• I am sure there are other features that I forgot to add but these seem to be the biggest ones.

If you are a hosted customer you can login to the members section and download the latest version or you can have use install the upgrade for you. Please keep in mind if we do the upgrade any modification you have added will be lost but you could still go back and add them back in.
