Question Uploading Module in v4.1.6 Hosted

Hello!

Let me first say thank you to 68 Classifieds for having this forum to support their product. Love the product so far! I have just purchased v4.1.6 Hosted and am trying to customize it to my needs. I have searched for over an hour to find the answer to my question to no avail. That fact does not encourage me as I feel like it must be such a simple answer that no one else needed to ask!

QUESTION: I have downloaded a module provided by Eric Barnes (Custom Categories ? Eric Barnes) but for the life of me cannot figure out how to simply "upload it" to the modules directory. Again, I am using the Hosted version. Someone please humor me!

Many thanks in advance!

Welcome and no problem. You need to upload that module using an FTP account and an FTP program. There are many free FTP programs on the internet like FileZilla - The free FTP solution which work well. You must make sure you have also set up an FTP account (username, password, server path) in your hosting control panel.

You then upload the module to the modules directory. After that login to your 68C admin control panel and go to the modules part of the panel and activate the module.

Ok, thanks for that. I am familiar with Filezilla and use it currently. I guess I thought the hosted would manage differently than that (still trying to get the big picture).

However, 68c setup my hosting with Rackspace...to my knowledge, I have not been given access to that. If I did, I did not realize it. Please advise...

You should have a hosting control panel like PLesk or Cpanel. This is where you set up your FTP account if I remember correctly.

You should have received an email with these details on it. Check your junk mail as well.
