Default Newsletter module question

I found out that if a member hasnt selected to use the newsletter it wont let me send it to them.

Part of what im doing for my featured ads is to mail them out once a week in the newsletter. I know there is a setting to ask people if they want the newsletter or not but is there a way to not give them the choice? I want them to be signed up on it by default.

Thanks for any info you might have!

That is not an option because sending emails that people didn't say they wanted are considered spam. Of course you can edit the newsletter module any way you wish.

One solution is to download an excel file from the admin control panel of your users emails. Then email them normally. However, if people have not signed up then you are sailing close to the wind. Emailing them perhaps once a month with a message to let you know if they don't like it is o.k but emailing them every 3 days with no option is likely to annoy.

Oh I see. What I wanted to do was make it to where everyone was to receive the newsletter that way I could send out a listing of all my featured(paid for) ads out bi-weekly. An extra incentive for buying a featured ad.

One thing you could do is use a full blown newsletter system and then just have a subscribe box on your site.

A free one is pommo mailer, and some hosted newsletter systems allow you to send so many free. Check mailchimp or campaign monitor.

You just asked this question on another thread. Asking more times is not likely to get more answers.
