Is there any way to make the first picture displayed in the ad larger than the others? Ideally, put picture 1 on top of the ad and the rest vertically beside it. But if there was a way to make the first picture larger, perhaps rowspan 2 and then the rest "regular" sized, that would be great for my needs.

When an image is uploaded to the site the size of the image is looked at and if its too large its resized and the image is saved in /photos. At the same time this is happening the image is also resized to the size specified for thumbnails and is saved in the thumbs folder.
With the above in mind you basically have 2 choices of photos to use when you view an ad, you can show people the thumbnails or you can show them the full size image. Most sites have a full size image thats significantly larger than the rest so this may or may not fit into your layout. |
