Sounds like a plan Maffo. I'd buy your checkout system if you could have multiple listings. Would it be possible to have just a single page instead of two?
chris Oh, still working on my business partner on the video mod. Just a matter of time. |

Please put your idea here; We may well decide to develop a module for doing that.

My idea for the solution is probably complex - but would not only solve this problem but many others (including sending confirmation emails to customers when a listing is placed using 'pay by check')
When a user places a listing, they enter the package they want, the category, the wording, upload pictures etc just as now. This info is stored in a temporary database (shopping cart database). the user can then go back and add more listings, and can continue doing so as many times as required, each time the 'shopping cart' database is updated with a new record. When the user is finally finished he can 'view the cart' which details all his listings - modify or delete any - and then click 'pay'. He then selects a payment method and his ONE payment is then processed. This system would therefore work with all payment processors with no mods. On successful payment the records in his 'shopping cart' database are read and listings posted. (and confirmation email sent to him and admin). These temporary records can then be deleted. If the user does NOT complete the checkout with a payment the information in the shopping cart database can be saved for a set number days (7?) before automatic deletion, allowing the user to come back time and time again modifying his shopping cart until he is happy with the contents. Would this work?

Don't know -
If we were to develop something it would be a credits based system. You pay for the credits and then use them. Just like using programs such as istockphoto etc. We will be collecting ideas from here pretty soon http://www.68classifieds.com/forums/...ls-wanted.html |

Yes Yes Yes!
This is such a clearly desirable feature. I firmly believe it would place 68 classifieds leaps ahead of anything. I wrote the following back in July of 2008: Could this information (the order, the listing and the coupon code etc) be saved in a temporary table? The user would arrive at the end of the process and would see a preview, still be able to make changes etc, even save it and come back to it later BEFORE pressing a final button to submit the order, which would then gather the information from the holding table, process it creating the listing and the order and the confirmation mails and then direct the user to the thankyou screen with a button to return to the home page. It would give the user much less scope to screw everything up. Here, there is the additional advantage of having a user area where you keep all your ads. Like a scratch pad. You could come back a year later and place an ad that you placed at Christmas last year for example. I wish wish wish wish somebody would seriously consider developing this. I'm also placing this in the wish list along with all the other... wait where did they go? cart wishes.

I have a membership module in beta that will allow the single purchase of a discount that allows multiple purchases.
The user still has to place each ad on its own BUT, depending on how you create the membership package they place the ad for free. You can read more about it here...... http://www.68classifieds.com/forums/...module-v2.html |
