Default banners and advertisements

I'm not a programmer so this may be a simple quetion. Is there an easy way to add banners or revolving ads to the side of the default template? Maybe under the Navigation area or other?

Thanks,

Brandon

I use phpadsnew (which became openads and is now openx). It is an open source ad server script (php/mySQL).

Wow.. that looks kind of complicated.

Do you need to create a new database for it?

It does seem overwhelming at first, but you don't really have to make it complex. Although I use it to serve ads including affiliate programs to all of the websites in my network , I started out with just one site.

Just set it up as your classifieds site as a publisher and your classifieds site as an advertiser.

It doesn't have to be in it's own database as long as you use a different prefix for your tables (e.g. class_ is the prefix by default for 68 c tables.).

You could always use Google Ad manager: http://www.68classifieds.com/blog/go...es-ad-manager/

Yes, you will have to create a database for openx to use. After its created run the openx install wizard (ie http://www.yoursite.com/openx ) and follow the on screen directions.

After creating a new database (titled openx) I am having problems opening the install wizard at the browers. I keep on getting ERROR MESSAGE FORBIDDEN. You do not have access to this document.

Thanks for you help.
