it all seems to be working again, definately a twitter problem

Twitter does seem to constantly have outages and down periodically so it is a good chance that was the reason.

Instead of using a module...I just use twitterfeed and my classifieds rss feed to push each listing through...not sure if this accomplishes the same thing, but it seems to work nicely.

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if the twitter mod will still function with the changes that Twitter has implemented? This is an extract of the email they have sent out.

Starting August 31, all applications will be required to use �OAuth� to access your Twitter account.

What's OAuth?

�OAuth is a technology that enables applications to access Twitter on your behalf with your approval without asking you directly for your password.
�Desktop and mobile applications may still ask for your password once, but after that request, they are required to use OAuth in order to access your timeline or allow you to tweet.

What does this mean for me?

�Applications are no longer allowed to store your password.
�If you change your password, the applications will continue to work.
�Some applications you have been using may require you to reauthorize them or may stop functioning at the time of this change.
�All applications you have authorized will be listed at Twitter.
�You can revoke access to any application at any time from the list.

If this change does effect the twitter module are there any plans to make it complient or is there some simple changes that can be posted to allow us to update it ourselves.

I just noticed that it no longer tweets my ads to my twitter account. Perhaps the mod needs to be updated with Twitter's new release?

Yea it appears it will have to be changed to support oAuth in order to continue working. I do not have time to add this right now so unless someone wants to add it in the only option is using a third party service like the one mentioned twitterfeed.com : feed your blog to twitter

Thanks, It looks like a good tool to publish the ads automatically to Twitter.
