Default Bad News

The Bad news, the import did not go well. Seems that it could not import my added fields correctly. Any how I nuked the whole installation and have started from scratch. I am unfortunately back to square one. I can get the pages to load. But after exploring the admin console I have found that much is missing. Such as email settings, anything to do with email actually. I don't see any where in the config.php to activate it. Godaddy has another sql server that allows External access. I will also set up there and see if anything is different.

I am also running XAMPP here and so I am going to do a test install locally and see what happens. This jumping through hoops of fire is getting old.

Bear in mind two very important things here.

1) 68 Classifieds version 5 is BETA software.

2) As stated in the announcement of the new version and in several other posts in this forum, the new version is a complete rewrite based on the CodeIgniter framework. This means several things and again posted in several different threads.
a) Templates, modules and plugins from previous version will not work in the new version 5
b) You can not directly import your data from an old version database into the new one.
c) The Install/Upgrade does actually have an upgrade migration which essentially will export your data
and input them into a NEW v5 db and tables. This process is outlined in the online documentation.
(These are not 100% fully compatible however with the differences in features and structure)

I understand its beta. I think a great deal of my headache is Godaddy and the strange way they set things up. Its like they are from Mars or something. Anyhow I did import the data using the V5 import. The import probably works fine on most servers, just not godaddy. There was another problem unrelated to the import and that was adding users. When I would access the CP users I would get a warning that there was more entries than there were tables and no users would show up even though there were users.
I set up a test site on my server here ( Xampp ) and V5 seems to run just fine. It will not mail out but everything else seems OK. Sometime tomorrow I will import the 4.2.1 database into it and see what happens.
Thanks for all your help, its very much appreciated!
