A feature or even a mod I'd like to see in the future would be the ability to separate the amount of picture uploads from the package details and let the end user decide on their own how many and have the script charge them accordingly. I think it would be simpler to administer packages offered based on amount of days and let the end user decide the extra variables. (charges)

Basically they are charged dependent on the quantity of images they upload. Example....end user places and ad..while doing so they are informed first upload is free each addition is .25 cents. I guess like the way ebay works.

Though the option would be nice if administrator could control if the first upload is free of charge or not for a said category and must be able to price uploads accordingly. Maybe even ad the ability for admin to control max uploads for each category.

Maffo's checkout module does this. But you have to buy the modules in a pack now.

Thanks, that sounds cool. I will have to check it out. I'll have to wait though till my site starts making money. Funds are very limited right now for me.

I think that this feature request does indeed have some merit and I could certainly see it being a useful option. Unfortunately, it seems that it would be rather complex to implement.

Personally, I believe that the listing packages with the number of available options is actually underutilized. I don't think that many 68 Classifieds owners are taking advantage of this.

As an example, if you have a general classifieds site that offers your typical categories as a newspaper would including Vehicles and Real Estate. Instead of having your typical general listing packages such as a Text ad for 30 days and a single photo ad for 30 days available for all categories. Why not have those general packages available for all categories except for Vehicles and Real Estate?

Obviously, these categories generally are much larger ticket items for sale as well as the fact that they usually would take much longer to sell and would more likely benefit from having more pictures. Also bear in mind that these categories would typically have more "Business Users" posting to them.

In that light you could have these packages for these categories only:
Vehicles:
Text ad for 60 days
Text ad for 90 days
Single photo ad for 60 days
Single photo ad for 90 days
3 photo...
10 photo

Real Estate:
Single photo ad for 90 days
Single photo ad for 180 days
5 photo ad ...
10 photo ad ...

Bear in mind that the listing packages number of photos don't have to have the number of photos that the package is limited to.

That's pretty much how I have mine set up Mike. I realized that different catergories need more time to list an item as you mentioned for example cars and homes. So that's what I did to mine, gave the options of more time to list, additional picture uploads etc.

I also have "announcements and an employment" area in which I feel should always be free except for bold , highlighted etc....so I also set those up accordingly.

For me it's just the idea, someone may want to show more images that may help "seal the deal" so to speak. But how do we as admin determine the set amount without having to create several package ideas for those areas? Like I said, just a thought I had. Would be one less variable in package set-up that the end user could determine and something I'd be willing to purchase even as an add-on.

I do like the initial way 68C is set up though, very versatile when it comes to administering things like such.
