Default Step6.tpl Blanking Extra fields

Hi,

I am using $extra and $extra2 fields to store some values during user registration.

However, if user creates a listing, during the checkout process when user clicks on Continue button on step6.tpl, the system seems to blank out the values in the $extra and $extra2 fields.

step6.tpl calls checkout.php which has a case statement that calls includes/core/checkout/step7.php

In this file I see a number of fields listed which get updated, but how do I modify this file to ensure the extra fields do not get blanked out?

I'm not sure that I'm following you, because the extra and extra2 fields in registration have absolutely nothing to do with checkout at all. The only time that those fields show are in the registration process and in the member info if you choose to show them.

I think I see the issue. Just to confirm:
If a user registers and adds info to extra or extra2 fields then place an ad the data is then removed. Is that the case?

Eric - Yes that is absolutely correct.

User registers and enters data into extra, extra2 fields

User then adds a listings or updates an existing listing and the system then blanks out extra and extra2 fields.

It seems to happen when on "Step 5 - Verify the information" page (checkout/step6.tpl), when user clicks the "Continue" button, then if I check via the Admin control panel, I see that the above fields are blanked out.
