Default Users Modifying and Ad

I have a "free package" on the site that allows you to post something which expires in 30 days. When my users are modifying their ads, the system autmatically tacts on an additional 30 days to the ad. Is it possible to shut this function off?

Thanks,

Ray

When they modify an existing ad, that should not be happening. Are you sure they are editing the ad and not just renewing the ad? Do you have your settings to allow renewal?

Yes....that seems to be the problem. They can upgrade the ad and "renewal" is an option, but when I uncheck the feature in settings to "no", it is still an option in the upgrade feature. Any thoughts?

Thanks......Ray

I think the package settings get applied to the ad at placement time so changing an ad package after an ad is placed will only affect newly placed ads. OR ads that get modified AFTER the package change should take on the new characteristics of the package.

In other words, try and edit an ad after you change the package to not allow renewal. You dont actually have to change anything in the ad, just open it to edit and click save/update or what ever the button says and see if the renew button goes away.
