68C- Version 4
Which files do I edit to change the way listings are sorted.(When browsing categories) Ideally Id like to be able to place listings in the order i want and to remove the ability for users to sort listings. Ive been trying to do this in showlistings.tpl but not having much luck. Note: The site is setup as a catalogue, and I am the only one placing listings, so I just need the ability to put products in the order I want when adding them. Any pointers on the best way to achieve this ? Thanks Greg

Version 4 what?
Some hefty differences between 4.0.9 and 4.1. Saying you have version 4 is like walking into tha auto parts store and asking for an alternator for a chevy.

This is relatively straightforward to do in 4.0X with a few edits if you have developer version. Can you please be specific what the ordering will be.
I presume you wish to do something like always show latest/feaured lsitings in date order only and normal showlistings from categories/searches in price order? As in our SEO templates. If you wish to do that or something similar then you can PM me I will give you the appropriate directions as it requires a duplicate of showlistings.tpl , a modified version it and a few other code changes. Too much to put here. |

Im using v4.0.3 Developer
I think ordering by date only would be perfect, that way I can make listings appear in any order I want by changing the "Date Added" I have no need at all for any featured sorting. Thanks

First of all, you really should upgrade to version 4.09. Be clear what you wish to do. Do you always want it to be date ordered (last in at the top for example) so that no sorting is possible or do you want to be able to sort by date still but no other variable.

PM me your email and I will send you the file. The user will not be able to sort but you will still be able to change the order using the admin control panel.
