I have made several extra fields for different categories. Some are single line text fields, which are fine, but others are drop down lists.
The drop-down extra fields always show the first entry as the default selection when doing a search. Does anyone know how to make them all show the "Search All" selection instead? This would make searching a lot easier as you have to go in and change them all to "Search All" if you want to see all the listings in that category. Gets annoying having to do this every time you go to the search page and pick a category that has extra fields available. Any suggestions? .

I have the same problem.
In Chrome the extra fields drop down work fine, but not in Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari, etc. Also can sorter the extra fields for WEIGHT like categories. Example: NOW Years of experience : 1 to 2 years 10 to 15 years 2 to 5 years 5 to 7 years 7 to 10 years Lest that 1 year More that 15 years WANTED Years of experience : Lest that 1 year 1 to 2 years 2 to 5 years 5 to 7 years 7 to 10 years 10 to 15 years More that 15 years Last edited by pipelin; 08-28-2009 at 01:32 PM. |

In a <form> if you just leave the first field blank in a drop-down list, it searches everything ( ie.. Search All ) and it leaves the fields unsorted as you put them in the list.
Is there a way to tell the smarty NOT TO SORT these extra drop-down fields? Also, it looks like Smarty adds the "Select All" to the drop-down list. Is there a way to tell smarty to use this always as the default selection even if the .... "DO NOT SORT" .... function will not work. This is what my first post was asking. Thanks

Thanks Larry;
I appreciate you telling me where to look. I'll see if I can figure it out.
